PRESS RELEASE

  • Hipotekarna Bank support the Institute of Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology
  • Agreement signed by prof. dr Dragan Hajduković and Esad Zaimović

As part of its corporate responsibility endeavours, Hipotekarna Bank has signed an agreement today on its support to the Institute of Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology. The agreement has been signed today on the premises of Hipotekarna Bank by prof. dr Dragan Hajdukovic, the founder of the Institute, and, Esad Zaimovic, Hipotekarna Banka CEO.

The famous Montenegrin scientist, whose gravitation bipolarity theory stirs up the scientific community globally and who is seen by many as the future Nobel Prize laureate, has founded this Institute in Cetinje to give young researchers from Montenegro a place where to engage in research projects in physics, cosmology and astrophysics, but also to promote education and science.

Hipotekarna Bank, which makes strategic investments and supports socially responsible projects, has recognized this great value that professor Hajdukovic has bestowed to Montenegro by founding this Institute and has therefore decided to commit to providing long-term support.

Esad Zaimovic, Hipotekarna Bank CEO, pointed out that Hipotekarna Bank continues to contribute to the development of the Montenegrin society and that corporate responsibility is a significant part of its business: “Professor Hajdukovic’s vision and commitment to education and support he provides to young scientists and researchers from Montenegro deserves the support of entire society. Our support to the work of his Institute is primarily the support to young people who wish to engage in research but also our gratitude to professor Hajdukovic, who, unaffected by his global fame and recognition, is passionately devoted to his work with young researchers in Montenegro. For Hipotekarna Bank, this is a continuation of the strategically planned activities in the areas of education, science, culture, healthcare and care for the elderly through which we show our commitment to our citizens and clients”, said Mr Zaimovic and pointed out that in 2015 the Bank invested a total of 100 thousand euros in corporate responsibility projects, sponsorships excluded.

Prof. dr Dragan Hajdukovic expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Montenegro has companies that recognize the significance of the Institute for Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology and that are willing to support its work. “Our worth is determined by our willingness to support the society that we originate or do business in. All world acclaim and profit is worth nothing unless we help young people and put conditions in place for them to prove their worth for the benefit of science and their community. Thank you to Hipotekarna Bank not just for its support to the Institute but also for setting an example for other companies and institutions in Montenegro to follow”, emphasized prof. dr Hajdukovic.
