Activate spare change
It’s okay to spend. It’s okay – because you save.
The “Activate spare change” deposits option allows Visa and Mastercard debit card users to transfer, with each purchase, the difference between the transaction amount and the next higher rounded amount to another transaction account or cumulative deposits accounts.
Which amounts can be rounded up?
- Amounts can be rounded up to EUR 0.50, EUR 1.00, EUR 2.00 or EUR 5.00.
What do I need to activate deposits?
- A current account linked to a Visa or Mastercard debit card used for payments at POS terminals
- An opened cumulative deposits account, a children’s deposits account “Mravac”, or a transaction account different from the account linked to the card
- Completed and signed application form
Example 1
You have chosen a rounding limit of EUR 0.50
Your bill amounts to EUR 4.20
With “Activate spare change”, EUR 0.30 is “transferred” to your deposits account (the difference up to EUR 4.50)
If you have 100 payments per month with an average amount of EUR 4.20, after one year your “Activate spare change” deposits account will amount to EUR 360.00 + interest. The effective interest rate is equal to the nominal interest rate; the EIR is 1.2% annually.
Example 2
If you have 100 payments per month with an average amount of EUR 4.20, after one year your “Activate spare change” deposits account will amount to EUR 960.00 + interest. The effective interest rate is equal to the nominal interest rate; the EIR is 1.2% annually.
You have chosen a rounding limit of EUR 1.00
Your bill amounts to EUR 4.20
With “Activate spare change”, EUR 0.80 is “transferred” to your deposits account (the difference up to EUR 5.00)
